In 2023, Olivia Wilde bought a four-bedroom Los Angeles home for $5.9 million; the 0.66-acre property sold in December 2025 for $5.23 million, about $670,000 below what she paid

Olivia Wilde has sold her sprawling Studio City home in Los Angeles for $5.23 million, according to a report by Realtor.com. The sale closed in December 2025 for about $670,000 less than she paid when she purchased the property in 2023. The sale came amid speculation about her romance with British art dealer Caspar Jopling. Perhaps all is fair in love!

A 1947 home

The original house was built in 1947 and has been remodelled over the decades. Architect Barbara Bestor designed the Sunswept House, while Swike carried out its more recent refresh in 2015, and Judy Kameon of Elysian Landscapes designed the gardens. The property was described in its Redfin listing as “an exceptionally private modern-ranch retreat”. The house is set on more than half an acre.

The home has an open floor plan and opens into a bright main space where the living room, dining area and kitchen flow together. Large glass doors slide into the walls and open onto a dining terrace, a lounge and a separate outdoor kitchen, making the indoors and outdoors feel like one area. The kitchen is built around a large island. The listing describes the home as ‘quintessentially Californian’. “This is indoor-outdoor living at its best.” The home receives abundant natural light, thanks to the skylights and wide windows. The main bedroom has a large closet and its own bathroom, as well as glass doors that look out onto the garden. A cedar soaking tub and an outdoor shower sit just outside. The opposite wood-panelled wing houses three guest bedrooms: a private guest suite featuring an en-suite three-quarter bathroom, as well as two additional bedrooms with a shared full bathroom. Downstairs, there is a relaxed living room that could serve as a den, a playroom or a small screening room. Outside, there is a detached guest house with a kitchenette and bathroom, as well as a pool house with a sauna. The grounds also include two vegetable gardens, mature trees and parking for more than six cars. “Sunswept is at once private, pedigreed, and deeply livable – an extraordinary creative compound designed for both entertaining and everyday life, just moments from Erewhon, Equinox, and the best Ventura Boulevard has to offer,” the listing says.Olivia Wilde first listed her Studio City home for $6.2 million in September 2025, less than three months before the sale. The buyer paid $5.23 million, and the sale closed in December 2025. That gap is what makes the sale stand out. Real estate deals often close below the asking price, but a gap this large means the seller took a clear loss on the purchase price she paid.Wilde’s Studio City sale came after the sale of her Silver Lake home. In September 2023, she sold her Silver Lake home for $4.2 million. The actress had bought it with Jason Sudeikis during their relationship, and it went to her in the split. The sale came close to the time the couple finalised their custody arrangement. The former couple began their whirlwind relationship in 2011 after meeting at a Saturday Night Live party. Within a year, they were engaged. The two share time with their children, Otis and Daisy. The couple is focused on co-parenting their two children. “It’s been amicable, and they’ve transitioned into a great co-parenting routine. The children are the priority and the heart of the family’s relationship,” an insider told People at the time of the split.Interestingly, Wilde’s decision to sell the Studio City home came amid speculation about her relationship with Caspar Jopling. Speaking to The Cut in June this year, Olivia Wilde spoke about her boyfriend, Caspar Jopling, for the first time. “When you’re with someone who’s not in the entertainment industry or isn’t a public figure, I have a sense of, ‘I want to protect this person as much as I can,’” she told the outlet. “I’m in a really lovely relationship now. I adore him, and I feel completely whole and intact as a person. I think it’s only possible after spending a couple years alone. If you haven’t ever been single for a few years, how do you even know who you are?”
