Meet Aysha Ameer: Indian woman who won free Dubai studio apartment

A Dubai-based 27-year-old Indian woman has won a free studio apartment in a city-wide shopping promotion.Aysha Ameer, originally from Kerala, was announced as the first winner of the ‘win your home in Dubai’ campaign, receiving a studio apartment offered by developer Binghatti. The initiative is organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and Dubai Chambers, as reported by Khaleej Times. The campaign allows shoppers to enter a draw by spending at least Dh500 at participating outlets and scanning a QR code linked to their purchase.Ameer said she entered the draw after her husband encouraged her to participate when they saw advertisements in a mall and on social media.“I saw the ads in the mall and online, but it was my husband who told me to try my luck,” she told Khaleej Times. “We just thought, why not give it a shot?”She later received a phone call informing her that she had won, but initially struggled to believe it.“At first, I thought it might be a scam call,” she said. “I couldn’t believe something like this could actually happen to me. It only felt real after I received the official confirmation email.”Ameer got married last year and had been planning to buy a home with her husband. Those plans were put on hold earlier this year due to uncertainty linked to regional tensions.“This came at the perfect time for us,” she said. “We had been thinking about buying a home, but we decided to wait because of the situation earlier this year. Winning this apartment feels like a blessing.”Ameer holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Christ University, Bangalore.According to her LinkedIn profile, Ameer currently works as a business consultant at Sharjah Media City (Shams), where she advises businesses and entrepreneurs. She also works as a sales team lead at SRTIP Accelerator.Earlier, she worked with Commitbiz Business Setup Consultants in Dubai, assisting clients with company formation and regulatory processes. Before moving to the UAE, she worked as a business development manager in Bengaluru, India.
