Both MAGA and the Indian-American community celebrate the defeat of Abraham George in the Texas GOP election.

The first Indian-American chairperson of the Republican Party in Texas, Abraham George, lost his re-election to D’rinda Randall. The reactions to his loss, however, were shocking as both MAGA and the Indian-American community cheered for his exit. MAGA celebrated the defeat of an Indian-origin individual, while the Indian-American community said he always looked the other way whenever Indians in Texas faced racism.“While this race has come to an end, our mission continues. Now is the time to come together, unite behind our Republican nominees, support the entire Republican ticket in November, advance our legislative priorities in the next session, and continue standing firmly for the conservative principles outlined in our platform,” Abraham George posted on X as he conceded the defeat. “I am grateful to everyone who supported our campaign, and I remain committed to serving our party and fighting for the values that make Texas strong.George, a Christian from India, spoke against H-1B visa program and against Hindu temples in Texas. Yet the Republican Party did not think of him as their own. “He aligned himself with the same Paxton political machine that looked the other way while anti-India racism became mainstreamed in Texas politics. So yes, I’m glad he lost. Public life has consequences,” Indian-American Advocacy Council co-founder Sidharth said on X.“Abraham George, the sex pest Indian running the Texas GOP, has been ousted in favor of a white woman.Impressed with how rapidly Texans have started purging Indian invaders from their state. DEI: Deport Every Indian,” wrote commentator Matt Forney, who is known for his anti-India attacks.

‘Living example of American Dream’: Who is Abraham George?

George calls himself a living example of the American Dream, and he was born in Kerala, India, and grew up there until the age of 16, when he came to the US to join his extended family here. He started working odd jobs in the US and then worked his way up in sales, IT and management. He joined politics when Barack Obama ran for president in 2007, as Abraham was strongly opposed to his socialist policies. He served as the chairman of the Collin County GOP and in 2024, he became the chairman of the Texas Republican Party. During the 2024 chairmanship race, reports emerged about a 2023 domestic incident in which police were called to George’s home after he allegedly attempted to leave with a loaded handgun to confront a man he suspected of having an affair with his wife. According to police records, no shots were fired, no injuries occurred, and George was never arrested or charged. George and his wife later described the reporting as a political smear.
